Dragonflies can be very large in Costa Rica. Their colors make them look like pendants & jewels one would not mind wearing. They bounce over the surfaces of water & rest on gorgeous tropical plants & flowers. Similar to the ‘Grasshopper Costa Rica’, patterns on this dragonfly re-interpret patterns seen on the typical ‘carretas’ (ox carts) found in Costa Rica. The colors however bring out those seen on actual tropical dragonflies. The golden accents remind us of the shimmer they create when they rapidly fly around from spot to spot.
