PUBLISHING COMPANIES

I am open to work freelance for publishing companies. I am currently working on a project of diverse stationary to be sold in Germany, Austria & Switzerland with the publishing company Captain Card in Potsdam, Germany. A link to my work will be uploaded soon, when the designs are ready for sale.

STATIONARY DESIGN FOR EVENTS

Wedding invitations, birth announcements, christening invitations, further stationary - you name it (in English, German, Spanish or any other language you speak - which you’d have to proof read because I speak the first three fluently). I can customize & personalize either to your liking & provide you with the ready-to-print files so that you have them printed at your favorite printing company. It does make a lasting difference to have your stationary individualized.

For one I prepare the designs & files to the sizing of your liking, for the purpose that you choose: either for print (at your own printing company of your choosing) or for online invitations (for example www.paperlesspost.com is a great place to upload your own electronic invitations & it is an elegant way to save on costs & time!)

And contrary to invitations “off the rack”, I can also prepare your individualized invitations or elements of these for printing on throw pillows or blankets, trays, or other stationary which you could also even use on your wedding or at home! I mainly use www.society6.com or www.vistaprint.com for which I would provide you the files for the product(s) of your choice so you can order your items to your liking.

My procedure: I work in ‘three’s’ as I like to call it. That means after we have discussed what you’re concretely envisioning (incl. text), I will provide you with 3 rough sketches to make sure I am headed in the right direction. Then you choose one of your liking which then I’d elaborate with the color palette of your choice. I will send you the colored file with your text for a check. Once I have your feedback I’ll go ahead to do the last tweaks and send you the files in the formats of your choosing (for web and/ or print).

My approach in Detail:

Phase I - Sketch (up to 3)

Phase II - Watercolor

Phase III - Digital cleaning of the painting (for print or digital) & text -which you give me- added. Up to 3 text layouts.

Phase IV - Proof reading (up to 3 corrections) & file hand over.

Any additional changes passing the ‘principle of three’s’ costs €25.

Before we take these steps, based on what you would like, I like to talk about what your favorite colors are , are there any symbols, animals, items that mean something to you, where you and your future husband met or where was your child born or where do you live, what season will the wedding / christening etc be in, what flowers will you want at your event etc. Then if you like I can add either element into the painting. Scroll down and you will see that in the wedding invitation below (with names blurred for privacy reasons) I added two ladybugs representing a cute inside joke the couple has (the ladybugs represent them & their love too).

Take a look at the birth announcement below: Little Constantin was born on a very hot day in a hospital near a gorgeous huge lake in Berlin (therefore the lake & bear on the front). The riva boat (often found on this lake) carries a flag with his initial. Once the card is opened, one ‘submerges’ underwater & sees that all the sea creatures are happy to see the gorgeous picture of little Constantin and “welcome “ him. Though these animals aren’t found in this lake, they all have a meaning to the family, or represent nicknames given to the baby etc.

Pricing: For a customized save the date, wedding invitation (one sided), personalized classic sleek monogram & RSVP cards with the process of working in ‘three’s’ as stated above the price starts at €250 with a 50% down payment (see here for payment methods: www.alexadenauer.com/prices-payment-methods) . It very much depends on how elaborate of a design you’d like. On average from start to beginning & depending on communication speed a wedding invite + RSVP can take around 10 days to complete.
